Bound before it is read.
Most markets show the next split while it can still be aimed at. A Slat Owner who can see the destination will trade into it. That is the whole problem, reduced to two words: known split.
Now look at a Binding. An Open Blind writes the split first, from a block value nobody selects. The slats stay shut. Fills still happen. The Slat Cut still gathers. Nobody — including the deployer — can read the destination until Blind Close. The spend then matches what was already written.
This is not concealment. Every transfer stays on the explorer. Every Binding is an event. Every Blind Close is an event. A sender stays linked to a recipient. There is no mixing. Unpredictability here is a timing fact: the split is committed before it is known.
Look at the Slat Cut. Two percent leaves a trade. Holding does not pay. A send that is not a trade does not pay. The take has one job: fund the window that already wrote its Binding.
Look at Shelved SHUT. Units that leave issue stay out. Deepen returns value into the Quote Lane. The Binding decides the mix. A Slat Owner does not. The deployer does not.
The Quote Lane runs on Uniswap v4. The chain is Ethereum. The quote is ETH. Forty thousand SHUT stand there at launch. The issue does not grow. A Slat Owner who wants the market line in one place can read it on the Slat Desk; it is the same line as here.
Consider an Open Blind that has already written its Binding. Fills arrive. Each fill leaves two percent. The gathered take grows. A watcher on the explorer can see the fills and cannot see the destination. Blind Close then shows the Binding and spends what gathered. The sequence cannot be reversed: there is no path that shows the split first and writes it later.
If a close reverts, the Open Blind remains. The Binding does not change. A later close may succeed. If the window gathered nothing, Blind Close still shows the Binding and spends nothing. Both cases keep the same rule: the split is older than the reveal.
Read backwards from the title. If the split could be read while the window was open, Shutterline would be a known-split market. It is not. The split is bound before it is read.
